GARBAGE DISPOSER

The perfect complement to every kitchen, our garbage disposals eliminate food waste effortlessly, reduce kitchen odors and household bacteria, and decrease the amount of food waste taken to landfills.

What is a garbage disposal?

A garbage disposal or garbage disposal unit  is a solid food waste disposal system that is designed to break solid food down before passing through plumbing. The disposal is affixed to the underside of a sink, usually in the kitchen.

How does a garbage disposal work?

The garbage disposal system is made up of a chamber, a spinning metal plate, and usually two blunt metal teeth known as “impellers.” Food falls into the chamber via the sink and the spinning plate with the impellers pushes material to the coarse outer walls of the chamber, thus grinding up larger pieces so that they can be more safely passed through the plumbing below.

SIMPLE TO USE

Using a sink garbage disposal is easy!

Never put fats, oils, or grease into a garbage disposal.

  1. Run a steady stream of cold water into the sink before turning on the garbage disposal.

  2. Turn on the disposal before placing any food waste into it.

  3. Gradually feed food waste into the disposal.

  4. Avoid putting in large amounts of food waste all at once as this may slow the grinding process.

  5. Once the food waste has been broken down, turn the sink disposal off and let water run for a few seconds to flush the drain pipe.
